This is a series of tin-can portraits. Each one is an interpretation of a historical portrait painting. I re-draw and simplify the original image into a series of shapes, then select pieces of tin on the basis of colour and pattern and, using tin snips, cut out the required shape. The cut shapes are riveted together onto a large olive oil can backing piece.
